For third-party telematic devices, use the RP1226 port on vehicle models made in late 2019 and newer.
The RP1226 connector connects your heavy-duty vehicle data to the Samsara Vehicle Gateway (VG). For more information about how you can leverage the RP1226 for your fleet, see Why Fleets Are Using the RP1226 Connector in Their Vehicles.
To connect an RP1226 port to the VG, use the appropriate cable for your VG model. For the VG34, use the B1226 cable; For the VG54, use the CRP1226 cable. For more information, see the following topics:
For vehicle models made in late 2019 and newer, refer to the vehicle's user manual or contact the vehicle dealership to find the location of the RP1226 port reserved for telematics devices. Contact Samsara support for more information.

Identify the location of the RP1226 connector in common heavy duty vehicles.

Connect the Samsara cable.
The vehicle's RP1226 port will remain accessible using the unconnected port on the y-cable.

Verify the gateway indicator light is green.
The USS/CAN hub is now fully functional.

Connect the existing gateway cable to the female 12-pin connector of the hub.
Use the ports on the hub to plug in any previously plugged devices. All functionality supported through the gateway will be supported through the hub.

Re-secure the gateway and cables to the vehicle using the zip ties provided.

Identify the location of the RP1226 connector in common heavy duty vehicles.

Connect the Samsara cable.
The vehicle's RP1226 port will remain accessible using the unconnected port on the y-cable.

Fasten the unconnected RP1226 port to vehicle's original port location.

Verify the gateway indicator light is green.
The USS/CAN hub is now fully functional.

Re-secure the gateway and cables to the vehicle using the zip ties provided.

Connect the existing gateway cable to the female 12-pin connector of the hub.
Use the ports on the hub to plug in any previously plugged devices. All functionality supported through the gateway will be supported through the hub.
