New Dashboard Rollout

Note: this feature is currently in beta testing and is not yet available to all organizations. Please reach out to Samsara Support if you would like to test out this feature.

Full Administrators can now check and control the rollout of the New Dashboard Navigation for users across your organization. With this feature, you can first enable the new navigation for yourself to view the changes, and then enable it for the rest of your organization.

Enabling the New Dashboard

1. Navigate to Settings > New Fleet Dashboard.
2. Select the Disabled tab, find your account, and enable the New Navigation for yourself by clicking the Enable button.
3. Once you feel comfortable with the New Navigation, click on the slider button to Enable for all users.
4. On the same tab, you can also search and filter users by tags to enable the New Navigation for other specific users.
5. Once you are ready for your entire organization to have the New Navigation, click on the slider button above the table to Enable for all users.

You can filter users based on tags or roles and enable and disable the dashboard for these users. They will see the new dashboard immediately along with a product onboarding walkthrough.

Troubleshooting

What are some of the best practices for using this feature?

Enable the new navigation for yourself and a few select users first. Once you feel comfortable, notify your team about the upcoming change, share the Knowledge Base article for them to learn more, and then enable the new dashboard for them. 

How can I inform users in my organization about the new navigation?

Once you enable the feature for a user their view will change to the new dashboard and they will see an onboarding walkthrough explaining the changes to them.

Can I turn off the new dashboard?

Yes. During the initial phase, you can visit this tool to disable the new dashboard for any user by clicking on the Disable button. Note that after mid-June we will discontinue support for the old dashboard view.

How much time do I have to enable the new dashboard?

We will continue supporting the old dashboard until mid-June. After June, we will automatically enable the new dashboard for your organization. 

How can I try this feature?

This feature is in closed beta right now and thus not generally available. Reach out to your Samsara representative if you want to test out this feature.
